Use this One App to turn your Existing Content into a Lead Generating Machine
There's an app that content creators everywhere are using to pump out content faster than ever. It's called Descript.
And getting more content out there is great.
But the savvy business owner knows that content eventually has to bring in proper leads. And that, in turn is how to get paying customers. *Cha-ching*
Feeding the Social Media Machine is a never. Ending. Game. Where the rules are always changing.
Social media just sucks and sucks and sucks up your time. Sometimes it feels like it's sucking up your life, too.
But all that time? It’s been an investment. When you are making quality content, it lasts. Even when it's lost to the algorithm. But for your audience? If it's good, they'll want it again.
Here's the thing about quality. It doesn't have a short expiration date.
But how can you use that quality content again? Can it actually make you money?
Yes. And you use it to send your traffic to a very specific, very important place:
Your email list.
Why Email? It's OLD.
But that is exactly why it is so valuable. It's not going anywhere.
Social media is a great place to grow your following. But email is where you own your leads.
How many times a day do you check your email? How often do you need to use it for your other accounts? (I know I couldn't function without the option to reset my password)
It's been tried and tested. There's 30 years of people learning how to use it to its full advantage.
Email is here to stay. We all use it. And there are people out there who will read what you have to send them... if you are sending the right stuff to the right person.
In your email, you never have to worry that you'll be shut out of your account. You never have to worry about being censored. You aren't tiptoeing around copyright infringement (though it's still good to be aware of it). You have no rules for what you can post, or when, or how. There are no limitations on how many times you can reply to people. No freezes. No bans.
Your email list belongs to you. Just you.
Now it’s just a matter of using all that content in the right way to get those leads to your list to have a great source for warm contacts that will buy from you.
The simplest thing?

Step 1: Get the Research Right
I know, I know... let's jump to using this app to make the ebook, right?
Here's the thing. You can do that. It's fairly straightforward. Just costs time (Right.... that is the most precious of commodities).
BUT.... if you jump into it without properly building your foundation, the time, the effort is only going to bring you a tiny percentage of the value it could have.
But doing the research is crucial to getting the marketing right.
When you are getting your lead magnet set up, you want to make sure that you are going to get the right people for your offer (that is the goal of getting leads, right?). So it's not only important to know who would download your ebook, but who would BUY the products or services that your business offers.
I know that we're all happy to help people out of the goodness of our hearts. Heck, I'm sharing all this with you.
But eventually, if you want your business to be sustainable, it's got to make sales, right? CONSISTENT sales.
So make sure that you are finding the people who will actually BUY your stuff. Not people who will just like it.
You want to go deep... understand who they are. Why the heck would they even want what you have to sell?
Sounds great, Jenna... But how do I do that?
Yeah, I know. This is the part that can be pretty tricky... and why so many people struggle to find consistent leads.
The trouble is the answer is: It depends.
That's why it's so hard.
It depends on who you want to buy. Men? Women? Parents? Newlyweds? Business owners? Every one of those groups is going to change a number of things. Where do they spend their time? What do they enjoy doing what? What things do they HAVE to do? Do they want to?
It can depend on who has bought from you already. Can you build a profile from your best customers?
It can depend on who your competitors are. How are they making their sales? What is their sales process like? What sets you apart from them? How are you different? Why would customers prefer what you have to offer? Is there anything that makes your offer different?
It depends on what you are selling. A product? Physical or digital? A service? A one time purchase? Or will they likely buy again if they're happy with the results?
It depends on your promised results. Is this something your target market actively looking for this? Does it solve a specific pain point? Are you going to need to do some educating to help them understand how it's going to help them?
Some of these questions you'll be able to answer right way. But some, you'll have to start the research process to answer.
Great marketing is all about effective match making. It is arranging the right offer, in the right way, to the right person in the right place.
Here's the biggest secret to excellent marketing: Go Deep
I feel like I'm giving away the best stuff really early in the process. But it's key to everything else. Building something great starts with a great foundation.
It's things like knowing that people under the age of 40 are more likely to be going through the full sales process on their phone. Where someone over 60 is more likely to do it on their computer. So, make sure you optimize for the right device.
It's finding out what kind of people actually HIRE your services, not just wish for them... or hope to get freebies from you.
It's looking up all the reviews you can find on similar offers to see what people love, and what people hated about what they got. Why did they buy? And then see how you can do it better.
It's understanding how they talk. The unique phrases, the acronyms.
It's picking out those specific phrases that make a human connection.
It's polling your previous customers: Why did they buy, and why from you? What was the biggest benefit? What was their biggest complaint? These are the people who can give you some of your most valuable information. Because they already bought from you. And if they did, you can get someone else to buy, too.
Going deep is all about narrowing down to exactly the person you want to buy, so your marketing is as effective as it can be.
Step 2: Write Your Book
Sift your Content.
Once you know exactly who you're wanting to attract to your lead funnel, and what they want that you can give them, you'll be able to look through the content you've created and find the gems that you can pull together to give them something great.
With the all FB Lives you've done already, you've obviously got things you can talk about. It's picking out the right thing to emphasize.
You may find that you need more than one of your videos to fill it all out.
You're likely going to want to choose an information rich, how-to type of video. Something that will be valuable for your audience and market.
When you're a trusted source of information, there's more reason to look for more information from you.
Get the Info into Text
Once you've picked out right videos for your target market, it's time to actually start putting together the ebook.
I like to use a program called Descript. You can upload your audio and videos, and it gives you back a transcript of the full recording. It's actually really great for editing in general, with a unique, transcript based tool for making cuts and edits.
Once you've got the transcript, it's going to need a heavy facelift. You can take out all the "Umm"s and "ahh"s right in Descript.
Overhaul that thing.
Make sure that you've taken out all the "Welcome every one" and "We're just going to wait for everyone to get here" and the "sorry for the technical difficulties" stuff.
Then comes the fun part: editing. Figuring out the structure of your book.
What's the point? Let them know. Then follow through on the promise.
It doesn't have to be long. 30 to 60 pages, broken up into 5 to 10 chapters is great. That's only about 6 pages per chapter.
If certain parts seem short, see what you can do to expand a bit. Then it's also useful to people who have heard your content before.
Make sure the writing is grammatical and spelled correctly (unless "the mistakes" are a distinct part of your brand voice). Add some character. Make it relatable.
And above all, give value.
Format Your Book
Once you've got all the text written, go ahead and format the book. If you have a brand kit, that's a great resource to figure out fonts and stuff, but be sure to use a font that is easy to read, and the body of the is in a common text for publishing.
Add page breaks between chapters, make your section headings bold.
If you want to go the extra mile, you could even add a hyperlinked table of contents.
Be sure to add any contact info you want included. Links to your website, or even directly to your sales page. Maybe your social media. And publishing dates.
Rest and Review
This is good advice for anything you write:
Alwyas cmoe back in 24 hrs to re-reed for typos.
Okay, sorry... that was intentional. But it's true. You are the least likely to notice any mistakes you've made in the first 12 hours after writing. So sleep on it. Come back and read it again tomorrow.
Give it a good polish.
Export That Thing
Once it's all done, you can export it to a pdf or an Epub. Or both if you want to.
It can be nice to have options.
Congratulations! You've now self-published your own book!
I can build a lead magnet for you, that you can use over and over again to attract new customers to your business.
I’m only taking a few people at an introductory price right now.
So if you're looking at this and realizing that it's going to take extra time to figure out how to do the research, format and write a book, and then write a funnel for it, I gotcha.
Follow this link to schedule a call with me, and we'll talk.
Step 3: Building the Funnel
So, now you've written your ebook.
And you've got your research. Yes, you're still going to need that.
It's time to get your funnel set up.
Mapping Your Funnel
Figuring out all the components to your funnel can help you make sure that once you start building, you don't leave anything out.
Walking through each step of the lead's experience is one of the most effective ways to start.
You'll need the first encounter you funnel. A place where you're content will be seen. If you've got a Facebook group or social media following, it could be a post.
It could be comments and conversations on social media followings other than your own.
It could be paid ads.
Then you'll need a landing page. This holds your secret weapon.
The email collection form.
The next step is the "Thank you" page, where you let them know that you're sending the ebook to their email.
Then you've got a choice to make: Let them download the ebook immediately. Then they are most likely to read the content. Or include the ebook in the email series.
This had the email "opt-in" so they can opt-in to your mailing list. The Ebook email, and then the follow-up to encourage them be applying what they learned from your book.
Eventually, you'll build your sales email funnel. After all, that is the whole point of getting the leads to your email. To give them value, and be able to sell to them.
Let's look at each of these individually..
Initial Attractor
Other than the value you put in your ebook, this is the most important piece of the puzzle. This is where all that research comes into play.
